Job Description

As a Social Worker in Johannesburg, you will be responsible for supporting individuals and families in overcoming challenges and achieving their goals. You will work closely with various stakeholders to provide counselling, referrals, and advocacy in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform home visits to assess living conditions and social environments.
• Collaborate with local agencies and organizations to enhance client services.
• Implement client-centered approaches to empower individuals and families.
• Organize workshops to promote mental health awareness and community well-being.
• Document all interactions and interventions according to agency standards.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor of Social Work (BSW)
• Master of Social Work (MSW) is a strong asset

Experience

• 2+ years of social work experience, preferably in a community setting

Technical Skills

• Client Advocacy
• Group Facilitation

Soft Skills

• Teamwork
• Adaptability

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Sesotho: Conversational

Advantageous

• Familiarity with mental health support: Experience in supporting clients with mental health challenges is a plus.
• Fluency in additional South African languages: Ability to communicate in other local languages will be an advantage.
