Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Legal Counsel to join our team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in corporate and commercial law, providing legal advice to various departments and ensuring compliance with legal standards.

Responsibilities

• Utilize your legal expertise to shape corporate strategy.
• Review and update company contracts in line with new legislation.
• Provide training on compliance and legal matters.
• Assist in the development of risk management strategies.
• Ensure all company practices meet legal standards and requirements.
• Provide representation during legal proceedings when necessary.
• Cultivate strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
• Advise on international trade compliance.
• Enhance the legal department's operational efficiency.

Requirements

Education

• LLB or equivalent degree with distinction
• Master's degree in Law or Corporate Governance is preferred

Experience

• 6+ years of experience in a similar role, with extensive knowledge of compliance laws.
