Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are searching for an experienced Structural Engineer to join our Pretoria team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in designing and overseeing the construction of various structures including buildings and bridges. With a focus on safety, sustainability, and efficiency, you will collaborate with architects and other engineers to bring innovative projects to life.

Responsibilities

• Develop design concepts and methodologies for various structures.
• Conduct load and stress analysis to ensure structural integrity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop engineering solutions.
• Oversee construction activities to ensure design specifications are met.
• Manage project schedules and deliverables.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings and plans.
• Identify potential design challenges and recommend solutions.
• Ensure compliance with local and national building codes.
• Coordinate with external consultants as needed.
• Prepare progress reports for stakeholders.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or related field
• Master’s degree preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in structural analysis and design

Technical Skills

• ETABS
• Revit

Soft Skills

• Communication
• Attention to Detail

Certifications

• Certified Structural Engineer (CSE)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Proficiency in project management software: Experience with tools like MS Project or Primavera.
