Job Description

As a Special Education Teacher (Middle School Resource Teacher), you will play a crucial role in delivering academic and emotional support to students in grades 6-8. You will collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and school leaders to develop tailored educational plans that meet the diverse needs of students.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with special needs in their educational and behavioral development.
• Collaborate with colleagues to design engaging and appropriate learning experiences.
• Monitor student progress and update IEPs as necessary.
• Facilitate communication between parents and teachers regarding student success.
• Provide support in creating a positive classroom environment for all learners.
• Participate actively in school initiatives aimed at enhancing student well-being.
• Engage in ongoing professional learning to stay current with best practices in special education.
• Complete administrative tasks associated with student support services.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
• A postgraduate qualification in Special Education is advantageous

Experience

• At least 2 years of experience in a teaching role with knowledge of special education practices.
