Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to be part of our expanding team in Durban. You will be responsible for designing and testing mechanical systems to improve functionality and efficiency. Your expertise will drive forward our projects while aligning with our goals of innovation and sustainability in engineering.

Responsibilities

• Implement engineering calculations to optimize designs.
• Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate project issues.
• Use CAD software to create detailed drawings and specifications.
• Design experiments and analyze data to validate mechanical designs.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering team.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns in engineering best practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Master's degree in Engineering Management is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical systems design

Technical Skills

• Prototyping
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

Soft Skills

• Team Leadership
• Time Management

Certifications

• Six Sigma Green Belt
• Lean Manufacturing Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in project management: Ability to lead engineering projects effectively.
