Job Description

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented General Ledger Analyst to join our finance team in Port Elizabeth. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the general ledger, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and assisting in month-end close processes.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the integrity of financial data within the general ledger.
  • Perform regular reconciliations to ensure compliance.
  • Assist in generating periodic financial reports and metrics.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial operations.
  • Identify opportunities for process efficiency improvements.
  • Provide training and support for junior finance staff.
  • Monitor and recommend changes to financial policies and procedures.
  • Document accounting policies and procedures as needed.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Master's degree is advantageous
Experience
  • 3-5 years of accounting/finance experience
Technical Skills
  • Financial modelling
  • Accounting software
Soft Skills
  • Problem-solving
  • Communication skills
Certifications
  • CIMA or ACCA certification
Languages
  • English: Fluent

Advantageous

  • Experience in auditing: Prior experience with auditing processes and compliance review.
