Job Description

As a Grinding Machine Operator, you will be responsible for precision grinding of steel rolls used in various applications. You’ll operate state-of-the-art machinery ensuring quality and efficiency while adhering to safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate roll grinding machines.
• Inspect and measure roll surfaces to align with quality control standards.
• Use various grinding tools to achieve desired finishes and tolerances.
• Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on grinding machines.
• Keep work areas clean and organized.
• Assist in troubleshooting mechanical issues with the equipment.
• Collaborate with team members to enhance operational efficiency.
• Train new staff on machine operation and safety procedures.
• Document production metrics and report to supervisors.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the operation.

Requirements

Education

• Matric Certificate or equivalent
• Trade Certificate in Machining or Grinding

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in precision grinding

Technical Skills

• CNC Machines
• Blueprint Reading

Soft Skills

• Communication Skills
• Teamwork

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with Continuous Improvement strategies: Experience in identifying and implementing process improvements.
• Experience in overhauls and refurbishments: Hands-on experience in refurbishing and overhauling equipment.
