Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Cape Town. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems and components. Your expertise will help us drive innovation and improve our engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design phases of mechanical engineering projects.
• Implement process improvements to enhance productivity.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to facilitate production.
• Provide engineering support throughout the product lifecycle.
• Engage in client meetings to discuss project specifications.
• Analyze performance data and provide solutions for improvements.
• Develop project schedules and milestones.
• Ensure all designs are sustainable and efficient.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Master's degree in Engineering Management is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of relevant industry experience

• AutoCAD
• Lean Manufacturing
• Data Analysis
• Quality Control

Soft Skills

Certifications

• Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD): Proficiency in CFD software for analyzing fluid flow and heat transfer.
• Familiarity with Industry 4.0 technologies: Understanding of smart manufacturing and IoT related to mechanical systems.
