Public Health Officer

Job Description

As a Public Health Officer in East London, you will oversee public health initiatives, analyze health data, and collaborate with community partners. We are looking for an individual with a proactive approach to health promotion and disease prevention strategies.

Responsibilities

• Lead health education campaigns targeting specific health issues affecting the community.
• Coordinate with healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive service delivery.
• Identify gaps in community health services and propose solutions.
• Develop partnerships with stakeholders for resource mobilization.
• Supervise and mentor junior staff in public health practices.
• Conduct health assessments and provide recommendations for improvement.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health or related field
• Master's degree in Public Health is a strong advantage

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a relevant public health role

• Statistical Software

Certifications

• Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES)
• Advanced First Aid Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Conversational
