Civil Engineering Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a Civil Engineering Technician to join our Bloemfontein team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting with the design and execution of civil engineering projects. You will work closely with engineers, providing support in project planning, surveying, and on-site supervision.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review project plans, proposals, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate site visits and inspections to ensure designs are implemented correctly.
• Assist with environmental assessments and analysis.
• Provide input on materials procurement and supplier selection.
• Ensure the highest quality standards are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
• Work alongside project managers to troubleshoot any issues.
• Support the training and mentoring of junior staff members.
• Evaluate the work of subcontractors and report on performance.
• Create detailed reports for project assessments and presentations.
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement through effective communication.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma in Civil Engineering or related field
• Bachelor's degree is preferred

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in civil engineering or related field
