Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Veterinarian to join our veterinary practice in Port Elizabeth. Your responsibilities will include examining animals, diagnosing conditions, and administering treatments to improve animal health.

Responsibilities

• Examine animals for health issues and develop treatment strategies.
• Perform surgeries and procedures as necessary.
• Educate clients on animal care and health maintenance.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of veterinary practices.
• Collaborate with pet owners to ensure optimal health and welfare.
• Manage and instruct junior staff in clinical skills.
• Develop emergency treatment procedures for critically ill patients.
• Prepare reports and documentation for patient treatments.
• Evaluate and recommend housing or environment for animal rehabilitation.
• Engage in continuous professional development and training.

Requirements

Education

• Veterinary Science Degree
• Further education in Animal Behaviour or similar is a plus

Experience

• Experience in a multi-disciplinary veterinary practice preferred

Certifications

• Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support for Veterinarians (ACLS)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Telemedicine experience: Familiarity with providing virtual consultations using telemedicine platforms.
• Research experience in veterinary medicine: Involvement in veterinary clinical trials or studies.
