Job Description

As a Shelter Advocate, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals and families experiencing homelessness and trauma. Your responsibilities will include offering emotional support, developing case plans, and advocating for clients' rights and needs.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate emotional support sessions for clients in need.
  • Connect individuals with essential resources, including housing and healthcare.
  • Document all case interactions with precision.
  • Cultivate a strong network with local service providers.
  • Create and deliver community education on homelessness issues.
  • Advocate for systemic changes that benefit clients.
  • Assist in grant writing and fundraising efforts.
  • Participate in continuous professional development.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
  • Relevant certification in social services
Experience
  • 3+ years’ experience working with vulnerable populations
