Job Description

The Register of Wills is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate records of wills and other related legal documents. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the proper distribution of assets and fulfilling the wishes of the deceased individuals.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the legal aspects of estate planning and document management for wills.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of legal documents to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Assist clients in understanding the implications of their wills and estate plans.
  • Act as the point of contact for beneficiaries and executors regarding probate matters.
  • Maintain meticulous records and documentation related to wills and estates.
  • Facilitate communication between legal teams and clients to ensure smooth proceedings.
  • Guide clients through the complex legal landscape surrounding wills and estates.
  • Educate stakeholders about their rights and responsibilities concerning wills.
  • Manage the confidentiality of client information diligently.
  • Prepare and maintain statistical reports related to wills processed.

Requirements

Education
  • Relevant Bachelor's degree in Law or a related field
  • Admission as an Attorney or Advocate in South Africa
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in wills and estates.
