Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to contribute to design and development in our Johannesburg office. The role entails engaging with multidisciplinary teams to bring innovative engineering solutions to life, focusing on enhancing product quality and performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design projects from conception to completion.
• Perform root cause analysis for design failures and implement corrective actions.
• Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure quality outputs.
• Develop testing protocols for new mechanical designs.
• Contribute to R&D efforts to innovate new products.
• Assist in preparing project budgets and resource allocation.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns in the engineering team.
• Participate in professional development and industry conferences.
• Document and present engineering findings to stakeholders.
• Foster a culture of safety and quality in engineering practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Master's degree is advantageous

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years experience in mechanical design

Technical Skills

• CAD Software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
• Thermodynamics

Soft Skills

• Communication

Certifications

• Professional Engineer (PrEng)

Languages

• English: Fluent
