Orthodontic Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Orthodontic Technician to join our fast-paced clinic in Johannesburg. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating and fitting orthodontic appliances. The ideal candidate should have excellent attention to detail and a strong understanding of orthodontic principles.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process impressions for orthodontic devices.
• Assist in the orthodontic treatment planning and patient consultation processes.
• Provide exceptional patient care and support throughout the treatment journey.
• Perform quality checks on appliances to ensure they meet clinical standards.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss patient progress and treatment goals.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace following best practices.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma in Dental Technology
• Further studies in Orthodontics is a plus

Experience

• 1-2 years in orthodontics or dental technology

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of dental materials
• Basic laboratory techniques

Certifications

• Certification in Dental Technology
• Certification in Orthodontic Appliances

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic

Advantageous

• Previous experience in a dental laboratory: Experience in a busy dental laboratory environment is a plus.
• Skill in orthodontic equipment maintenance: Ability to perform routine maintenance on orthodontic tools and equipment.
