Correctional Officer

Job Description

As a Correctional Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety and security of inmates, enforcing rules and regulations, and ensuring a structured environment within the facility. This role requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage challenging behaviours.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and security of the correctional environment for staff and inmates alike.
• Administer disciplinary actions in accordance with established protocols.
• Engage in regular training and development activities to stay updated on best practices.
• Work collaboratively with law enforcement and program coordinators.
• Create a positive environment that supports inmate rehabilitation.
• Participate in crises management and conflict resolution.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.

Requirements

Education

• Higher education in a related field is advantageous.

Experience

• Experience working with high-risk or violent offenders is preferred.
