Job Description

Become a Public Health Specialist with us in Pretoria! This position will allow you to innovate and improve public health strategies while working side-by-side with community partners to drive significant health improvements across populations.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate public health programs and suggest improvements.
• Identify health disparities and work to address barriers to healthcare.
• Monitor and report on key public health metrics and indicators.
• Engage community stakeholders in health planning and decision-making.
• Promote health education and awareness efforts throughout the community.
• Conduct public speaking engagements to discuss health topics.
• Develop partnerships with schools and other institutions for health promotion.
• Support emergency response initiatives during public health crises.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health or Social Sciences
• Master's degree in Public Health is advantageous

Experience

• 2-4 years in community-based health programs

• Public Health Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Northern Sotho: Conversational

Advantageous

• Experience in Survey Research: Previous work in designing and analyzing health surveys.
• Bilingual in English and Afrikaans: Proficiency in communicating in both English and Afrikaans.
