Highway Maintenance Worker

Job Description

As a Highway Maintenance Worker, you will be at the forefront of ensuring our roads are safe and well-maintained. Your key responsibilities will include inspecting road surfaces, operating machinery, and performing repairs on potholes and other road imperfections.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular evaluations of road conditions and report findings.
• Execute all maintenance tasks adhering to safety protocols.
• Collaborate with the road maintenance crew to optimize repair schedules.
• Document work performed and materials used for maintenance records.
• Assist in training new team members on equipment operation and safety protocols.
• Respond to emergency repair requests as needed.
• Participate in ongoing training to enhance skills and knowledge in road maintenance.
• Ensure all equipment is kept in safe and usable condition.
• Provide input on improvements to maintenance processes.
• Support the implementation of sustainability practices in road maintenance.

Requirements

Education

• Vocational training or certifications in road construction preferred

Experience

• At least 3 years of experience in road maintenance or construction.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of asphalt mixture
• Equipment maintenance
