Responsibilities

• Develop technical specifications for mechanical systems.
• Lead initiatives for process improvement and efficiency.
• Work with vendors to source and evaluate materials.
• Conduct risk assessments for mechanical projects.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns.
• Support project management in scope and budget estimations.
• Review and analyze product performance data.
• Coordinate with manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Master's degree is an advantage

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering

Technical Skills

• CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
• Mechanical system design
• Project management

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving

Certifications

• Professional Engineer (PrEng) registration

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Conversational

• Experience with FEA and CFD software: Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis and Computational Fluid Dynamics software.
• Familiarity with industry regulations and standards: Understanding of compliance requirements in mechanical engineering.
