Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Legal Advisor to join our team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge in legal counsel, corporate law, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Advise senior management on corporate structure and compliance.
• Handle complex legal issues with a focus on risk management.
• Lead internal legal investigations and compliance audits.
• Engage in stakeholder consultations regarding legal matters.
• Build and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies.
• Provide training on legal risks and compliance to employees.
• Support the legal department in strategic planning initiatives.

Requirements

Education

• Postgraduate degree in Law is advantageous

Experience

• 7+ years of experience in a similar legal advisory role.

• Legal Writing

• Negotiation

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with international law: Knowledge of international legal frameworks and compliance.
• Experience in M&A transactions: Hands-on experience with mergers and acquisitions.
