Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Corporate Lawyer to join our prestigious law firm in Durban. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of corporate law and a track record of providing exceptional legal advice to businesses. You will work closely with clients to navigate complex legal issues and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee compliance with corporate governance standards.
• Prepare and review shareholder agreements and other corporate documents.
• Provide insights on legal risks involved in business operations.
• Evaluate and document corporate policies and procedures.
• Assist clients with dispute resolution and risk management strategies.
• Develop legal strategies that align with clients' business objectives.
• Participate in legal workshops and training for clients and staff.
• Build and manage a portfolio of clients in various industries.
• Utilize technology for efficient case management and documentation.

Requirements

Education

• LLB or equivalent legal degree
• Master’s in Business Law is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in corporate law or related field

Certifications

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa
• Certificate in Corporate Governance

Languages

• English: Fluent

• Fluency in Afrikaans: Ability to communicate fluently in Afrikaans is a plus.
