Construction Manager

Job Description

We are in search of an experienced Construction Manager to join our Johannesburg team. As a leader on site, you will oversee all aspects of construction projects from planning to completion, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage project budgets and timelines, reporting on variances.
• Coordinate logistics for subcontractors and materials procurement.
• Lead safety meetings and ensure compliance with health & safety legislation.
• Involve in bidding processes and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Provide leadership to the onsite team, fostering a positive work environment.
• Assist in developing project proposals and maintain client relationships.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Master's degree in Construction Management preferred

Experience

• Proven experience managing construction projects of significant size and complexity.

Technical Skills

• Project Scheduling Tools
• Cost Estimation

Soft Skills

• Negotiation
• Time Management

Certifications

• Certifications in Safety Management
• Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with Green Building Standards: Understanding of and experience with green building initiatives and regulations.
• Proficient in CAD Software: Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software for plans and layouts.
