Correctional Officer

Job Description

Join us as a Correctional Officer, where you will ensure the safety and security of our correctional facilities. You will be responsible for monitoring inmate activities, responding to emergencies, and maintaining order in daily operations. Candidates should demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and a keen sense of judgment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the security of facilities by monitoring camera feeds and security systems.
• Conduct searches of inmates and their living areas for contraband.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss inmate behavior and strategies.
• Provide mentorship to new correctional officers on procedures and policies.
• Establish trust and respect with inmates to encourage positive behavior.
• Document and report any unusual activity or incidents to supervisors.
• Work on continuous improvement of safety and security measures.
• Facilitate workshops and activities that promote inmate well-being.
• Promote a culture of safety and professionalism throughout the facility.
• Act as a liaison between inmates and facility administration when needed.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma in Law Enforcement or related field

Experience

• Prior experience in a correctional environment is highly desirable

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Crisis intervention training: Training and experience in crisis intervention strategies.
