Retort Condenser Attendant

Job Description

The Retort Condenser Attendant will manage the retort system in our food processing plant. This role ensures that food products are processed to meet stringent quality and safety standards, while operating and maintaining sophisticated retort equipment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the retort system operates efficiently to adhere to production schedules.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve any equipment issues.
• Document processing results and maintain accurate records.
• Guide and support team members as needed during production runs.
• Assist with inventory management of supplies required for production.
• Participate in regular safety and performance meetings.

Requirements

Education

• Matric certificate or equivalent
• Technical education in food processing or engineering is preferred

Experience

• 1-3 years of experience operating retort systems or similar equipment

Technical Skills

• Attention to detail
• Technical knowledge of retort systems

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving skills
• Teamwork

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with related food processing equipment: Hands-on experience with machinery similar to retorts.
