Forest and Conservation Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Forest and Conservation Technician to assist in the management of our grazing lands and the welfare of our livestock. This is an exciting opportunity to work in the field, promote sustainability, and positively impact the farming community.

Responsibilities

• Help develop and implement effective grazing management plans.
• Monitor grazing practices for sustainability and productivity.
• Assist with community outreach and education on conservation practices.
• Coordinate with agricultural experts to optimize livestock care.
• Conduct regular assessments of grazing land conditions.
• Participate in workshops and training sessions for skill enhancement.
• Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies.
• Assist in organizing community events related to agriculture and conservation.

Requirements

Education

• Relevant vocational training or degree in agriculture or environmental management
• BSc in Environmental Science is a plus

Experience

• 2+ years of experience in livestock management or agricultural practices

Technical Skills

• GPS and Mapping Software
• Sustainability Practices

Certifications

• Environmental Management Training
• Advanced First Aid Training

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Tswana: Basic
