Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Legal Advisor to join our esteemed legal team in Durban. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of various legal frameworks, with expertise in providing strategic legal advice and support to our clients. You will play a vital role in risk management, compliance, and ensuring that our operations align with current laws.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver strategic legal guidance that aligns with organizational objectives.
  • Review documentation and provide legal insights to support decision-making.
  • Engage in negotiations and conflict resolution to mitigate legal disputes.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes affecting the firm.
  • Support corporate transactions and reorganizations by conducting due diligence.
  • Maintain and manage case files and legal documentation.
  • Foster relationships with external legal advisors and regulatory bodies.
  • Assist in the preparation of compliance reports and disclosures.
  • Advise on intellectual property matters and protect corporate assets.
  • Provide mentorship and support to junior legal staff.

Requirements

Education
  • LLB or equivalent legal degree
  • Admitted attorney in South Africa is preferred
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in a legal advisory role, preferably within a corporate environment
