Learning and Development Specialist

Job Description

We are on the lookout for an innovative Learning and Development Specialist who can elevate our training initiatives. You'll be responsible for assessing training needs, developing quality learning content, and facilitating workshops that leave a lasting impact. Your skills will help propel our commitment to employee development in Cape Town.

Responsibilities

• Identify and analyze employee development needs through performance evaluations and feedback.
• Create interactive learning experiences through different platforms, including e-learning and in-person sessions.
• Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of training programs and adjust strategies accordingly.
• Collaborate with external trainers and experts to enhance training content and delivery.
• Facilitate team-building workshops to support team dynamics and collaboration.
• Research industry trends and best practices to keep the training content relevant.
• Support the onboarding process by creating training materials for new hires.
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of learning methodologies and training technologies.
• Provide coaching for individual development plans and career pathways.
• Promote internal mobility through professional development initiatives.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Organizational Development, Business Administration, or relevant field
• Master's degree in related field is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in learning and development or corporate training roles

Technical Skills

• Content Development
• Learning Management Systems (LMS)

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Creativity

Certifications

• Kirkpatrick Certification in Training Evaluation
• ATD Master Trainer Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in coaching and mentoring: Ability to guide and develop team members through mentoring.
• Knowledge of e-learning authoring tools: Familiarity with tools such as Articulate or Captivate.
