Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join our Johannesburg office. This role involves providing expert legal advice on a range of matters, including corporate governance, compliance, and contract management. You will be instrumental in guiding our business decisions and ensuring legal compliance in all initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Advise on legal implications of business decisions and strategies.
• Draft, analyze, and negotiate a variety of contracts.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Provide recommendations for legal risk mitigation.
• Interact with regulators and legal authorities as needed.
• Support merger and acquisition activities from a legal perspective.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to ensure legal considerations are integrated.
• Report on legal matters to senior management.

Requirements

Education

• LLB degree is mandatory
• Postgraduate degree in Business Law is beneficial

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a corporate legal environment
