Job Description

As a Deck Mate, you will be a key player in our maritime operations, assisting with the maintenance and operation of the vessel's deck equipment. You will ensure the safety and well-being of passengers and crew, while also performing essential deck duties like cleaning and maintaining equipment. Responsibilities

• Work alongside the captain and senior crew to ensure a safe sailing experience.
• Conduct inspections of life jackets and safety equipment.
• Assist with navigational duties and emergency preparedness.
• Stay updated on maritime regulations and protocols.
• Participate in crew meetings to discuss operations and safety.
• Assist with provisioning and inventory management of deck supplies.

Requirements

Education

• Valid Seafarer's Medical Certificate

Experience

• Previous experience on a similar vessel preferred.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of maritime technology
• Deck safety knowledge

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving
• Physical stamina

Certifications

• Seaman's book

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Basic mechanical skills: Ability to perform simple repairs on deck machinery.
• Experience in team leadership: Previous roles where leadership and responsibility were demonstrated.
