Job Description

As a Cattle Alley Worker, you'll take charge of managing the movement and transportation of cattle within our facility. Your role is vital, ensuring the safe and efficient handling of cattle during various operations. Ideal candidates will possess experience in livestock handling and a genuine passion for animal welfare.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the movement of cattle with a focus on their welfare and safety.
  • Oversee the sorting and loading processes to ensure efficiency.
  • Assist in maintaining facilities and equipment used in cattle handling.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss operational improvements.
  • Educate new employees on safe cattle handling practices.
  • Engage in ongoing training to improve skills related to cattle welfare.
  • Accurately record and report on cattle movements and health checks.
  • Coordinate with veterinary staff for any health-related issues.
  • Monitor and report discrepancies in cattle counts post loading/unloading.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant agricultural regulations and standards.

Requirements

Education
  • No specific higher education needed, but relevant certifications are a plus
Experience
  • Experience working in a farm environment is preferred.
