River Guide

Job Description

We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as River Guides. You will lead groups on exciting river adventures, ensuring their safety while providing education and insights about the local ecosystem. Ideal candidates are passionate about the outdoors and have excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate safe and enjoyable river trips for all participants
• Conduct pre-trip briefings and safety checks
• Monitor weather and river conditions to ensure participant safety
• Assist in the training of new guides and staff members
• Develop engaging educational content related to the ecology and history of the river
• Promote sustainability practices among participants and fellow guides

Requirements

Education

• Additional certifications in outdoor education or adventure guiding are a plus

Experience

• Familiarity with local rivers and their characteristics is highly desirable

Technical Skills

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Experience in white-water rafting or kayaking

Soft Skills

• Customer service orientation
• Attention to detail

Advantageous

• Experience in camping and wilderness survival: Skills that enhance safety and enjoyment during outdoor trips.
• Knowledge of local flora and fauna: Enhances educational aspects of the guiding experience.
