Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Legal Advisor to join our vibrant team in Cape Town. You will play a key role in providing legal advice and support to our clients, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of legal principles.

Responsibilities

• Manage legal documentation and maintain accurate records.
• Provide guidance on employment law and HR compliance.
• Support merger and acquisition activities with legal analysis.
• Coordinate legal audits and assessments.
• Build strong relationships with clients to understand their legal needs.
• Prepare reports and presentations for management regarding legal matters.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Law or related field
• LLB and/or relevant legal certifications preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in commercial law

Certifications

• Admitted Attorney with the Legal Practice Council
• Negotiation and Conflict Resolution Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

• Knowledge of data privacy laws: Understanding of the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and compliance requirements.
• Experience in corporate mergers and acquisitions: Hands-on involvement in M&A transactions.
