Legal Advisor

Job Description

We are seeking a knowledgeable Legal Advisor in Johannesburg to provide expert legal guidance. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders to ensure compliance with laws and regulations while providing strategic legal advice.

Responsibilities

• Advise on regulatory compliance and corporate governance.
• Prepare and deliver legal opinions and internal reports.
• Manage and resolve disputes while considering the firm's best interests.
• Conduct comprehensive legal research to support litigation and advisory work.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure legal risks are effectively managed.
• Assist in the development of company policies and procedures related to legal matters.

Requirements

Education

• LLB or equivalent
• Postgraduate qualification in Law is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in legal counsel or advisory roles

Technical Skills

• Labor Law
• Intellectual Property Law
• Litigation

• Analytical Thinking
• Team Player

Certifications

• Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP)
• Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus

Languages

• English: Fluent

• Exposure to International Law: Understanding of principles governing international agreements.
