Job Description

As a Grader and Sorter of Agricultural Products, you will play a crucial role in the wool production process by removing wool from sheep and ensuring the quality of the wool. This involves sorting and grading wool based on various parameters.

Responsibilities

• Utilize manual shears or electric clippers for wool removal.
• Sort wool based on visual inspection for quality assurance.
• Monitor sheep for signs of distress during handling.
• Maintain compliance with health and safety protocols.
• Perform routine cleaning and sanitization of equipment and work areas.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss production goals.
• Contribute to creating a safe and positive work culture.

Requirements

Education

• Matric certificate or equivalent
• Certificate or diploma in Agriculture or Animal Science (advantageous)

Experience

• Experience working with livestock is a plus.

Technical Skills

• Electric Clippers Operation
• Wool Quality Assessment

Soft Skills

• Good Communication
• Flexibility and Adaptability

Advantageous

• Prior experience in a similar role: Experience as a wool shearer or in agricultural product processing.
• Ability to operate shearing equipment: Capability in managing and using advanced shearing technology.
