Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Legal Counsel to join our thriving team in Cape Town. In this role, you will provide strategic legal advice, ensuring compliance with local regulations and best practices. You will be instrumental in negotiating contracts and protecting our organization's interests.

Responsibilities

• Engage with regulators and represent the organization in legal matters.
• Perform due diligence on potential business partners and acquisitions.
• Lead negotiations and manage legal projects.
• Work with financial teams to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Monitor corporate governance practices and recommend improvements.
• Promote awareness of the legal landscape within the organization.

Requirements

Education

• LLB or equivalent legal qualification
• Master's in Law or relevant field is advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years in legal advisory roles, preferably in corporate law

Certifications

• Certified Compliance Specialist

Languages

• English: Fluent
