Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Social Worker to join our compassionate team in Bloemfontein. The successful candidate will support individuals and families facing various challenges, providing essential resources and advocacy. You will work closely with community members to develop tailored support plans, ensuring their well-being and empowerment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate the social, emotional, and economic needs of clients.
• Design and implement effective interventions tailored to clients' needs.
• Provide emotional and practical support to clients and their families.
• Foster partnerships with local agencies to enhance support services.
• Prepare and submit required documentation for funding and reporting purposes.
• Engage with clients' families to enhance support systems.
• Keep abreast of social services trends to provide the best support.
• Conduct follow-ups with clients to assess progress and adjust interventions as necessary.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss client cases and share insights.
• Advocate for systemic change to improve social service delivery.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work
• Master's degree in Social Work or related field is an advantage

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in clinical social work or community service

Technical Skills

• Culturally Competent Practice

• Negotiation

Certifications

• Trauma-Informed Care Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Sesotho: Conversational

Advantageous

• Certification in trauma-informed care: Specialized training in trauma-informed practices is beneficial.
• Fluency in an additional local language: Ability to communicate in more than one local language is an advantage.
