Job Description

As a Diversity and Inclusion Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that promote diversity in our workforce. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in diversity initiatives and will work closely with leadership to foster an inclusive workplace that values diverse perspectives.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive diversity and inclusion strategies.
• Facilitate training and workshops to promote awareness and understanding of diversity issues.
• Collect and analyze data to assess the effectiveness of diversity initiatives.
• Collaborate with leadership to integrate diversity goals into the organization's overall strategy.
• Act as a consultant and resource for staff regarding diversity and inclusion best practices.
• Lead initiatives celebrating cultural events and diversity awareness programs.
• Develop partnerships with community organizations to enhance outreach efforts.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• Postgraduate degree in HR or Social Work is an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years’ experience in HR with a focus on diversity and inclusion

Certifications

• Diversity and Inclusion Certification
• Certified HR Professional (CHRP)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Fluent in additional languages: Proficiency in more than one official South African language is an asset.
• Experience in the NGO sector: Previous experience with non-profit organizations focusing on diversity and inclusion.
