Rail Operator

Job Description

As a Rail Operator, you will be responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of trains, ensuring the efficient running of the railway systems. Ideal candidates should have a strong understanding of railway operations and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Manage the safe operation of passenger and freight trains.
• Oversee train crew and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to schedule repairs.
• Evaluate and implement new safety procedures.
• Train and mentor junior operators.

Requirements

Education

• Higher qualification in Engineering or related field
• Additional railway certifications are advantageous.

Experience

• 3+ years in freight or passenger railway operations

Technical Skills

• Experience in Locomotive Maintenance
• Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Systems

• Analytical Skills
• Teamwork Abilities

Certifications

• Safety and Compliance Training Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Basic
