Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Bloemfontein office. The successful candidate will play a critical role in designing, developing, and overseeing the manufacturing of mechanical systems and devices. You will utilize your knowledge to improve existing designs and ensure compliance with safety regulations while collaborating with other engineers to drive innovation within our projects.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed designs and specifications for mechanical systems.
• Work closely with design teams to translate concepts into practical solutions.
• Perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot design issues.
• Utilize CAD software to produce and modify technical layouts.
• Ensure all designs are cost-effective and sustainable.
• Assess the reliability and efficiency of mechanical components through testing.
• Participate in project planning meetings and contribute technical insight.
• Develop maintenance guidelines for mechanical equipment.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Master's degree in Engineering Management is a plus

Experience

• 5 years of experience in mechanical design and production

• Project Management
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

Certifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP)
• Lean Manufacturing Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with renewable energy projects: Involvement in mechanical engineering roles related to renewable energy.
