Job Description

We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Legal Policy Advisor to join our team in Johannesburg. This role involves providing expert legal counsel to guide policy formulation, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong legal background, with a deep understanding of policy analysis and legislative processes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct due diligence for potential mergers and acquisitions.
• Assess the legal implications of new projects and initiatives.
• Engage with stakeholders on policy advocacy and lobbying efforts.
• Analyze compliance with South African laws and regulations.
• Prepare and present legal briefings to staff and management.
• Review and recommend changes to operational policies.
• Identify areas of improvement within the legal framework of the organization.
• Collaborate with HR to ensure compliance with labor laws.
• Support the development of corporate governance policies.
• Monitor litigation trends relevant to the organization's interests.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) or related field
• Master's degree in Law or related field is an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in legal compliance and policy advisory
