Pharmacist

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacist to join our team in Durban. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications while providing excellent patient care.

Responsibilities

• Review patient profiles and medication orders for appropriateness.
• Consult with patients regarding side effects and medication interactions.
• Lead training sessions for pharmacy staff and interns.
• Prepare and maintain documentation for compliance audits.
• Support pharmacy initiatives for quality improvement.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy
• Honours degree in Pharmacy is an advantage

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in retail pharmacy

Certifications

• Basic Life Support Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Intermediate

Advantageous

• Knowledge of medication therapy management (MTM): Experience in developing and managing MTM programs for patients.
• Bilingual in English and Afrikaans: Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse patient population.
