Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, analysis, and project management. You will be involved in various projects, from concept through to implementation, providing innovative solutions that meet client needs.

Responsibilities

• Innovate new mechanical design solutions to meet client specifications.
• Utilize simulation and modeling tools to predict system performance.
• Prepare and present design proposals to clients and project teams.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
• Facilitate design reviews and workshops with stakeholders.
• Support the installation and commissioning of mechanical systems.
• Analyze performance data and suggest design modifications.
• Participate in the development of project scopes and objectives.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Maintain knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Project Management certification is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and project management

Technical Skills

• AutoCAD
• Thermal Analysis

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving
• Leadership

Certifications

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Certification in Lean Manufacturing: Knowledge of lean principles and methodologies.
• Familiarity with robotics and automation systems: Experience in designing mechanical components for robotic systems.
