Job Description

As an Aircraft Cargo Handling Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the efficient and safety-driven loading of airfreight shipments. Your leadership skills will ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies, thus facilitating smooth operations and enhancing customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the loading and unloading of airfreight cargo efficiently and safely.
• Develop and enforce standard operating procedures for loading operations.
• Supervise team of airfreight handlers, ensuring everyone understands their responsibilities.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
• Handle performance reviews and provide feedback to enhance team skills.
• Assist in logistics planning to optimize loading schedules and routes.
• Maintain relationships with customs and other regulatory bodies.
• Implement training programs for ongoing team development.
• Report regularly to management on operational efficiency and safety compliance.

Requirements

Education

• Matric certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent
• Certification in dangerous goods handling is advantageous

Experience

• Experience in managing a diverse team in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in using computer systems and tracking software
• Understanding of customs and import/export processes

Soft Skills

• Effective communication

Certifications

• Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) Training Certificate

Languages

• English: Fluent
