Job Description

We are actively seeking a Legal Advisor to join our Johannesburg office. This role is integral in providing legal advice across various sectors, ensuring compliance, and mitigating legal risks. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in contract law, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with various business units to provide ongoing legal support.
  • Draft and negotiate a range of legal documents, including contracts and agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide mitigation strategies.
  • Stay informed on legal developments and their potential impact on the business.
  • Manage legal disputes and liaise with external legal teams.
  • Review organizational policies to ensure legal compliance.
  • Provide training and legal awareness sessions to staff.
  • Advise on regulatory compliance across jurisdictions.
  • Support merger and acquisition activities from a legal perspective.

Requirements

Education
  • LLB or equivalent degree in Law
  • Master's degree in Law is preferred

  • 6+ years of experience in corporate law and compliance
