Corporate Lawyer

Job Description

We are seeking a Corporate Lawyer with a strong background in corporate law to join our dynamic team in Port Elizabeth. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert legal advice to clients on corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, and compliance matters.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on various corporate matters and transactions.
• Negotiate and finalize contracts, ensuring compliance with law.
• Conduct due diligence on corporate acquisitions.
• Provide training on corporate governance and compliance issues.
• Assist with the preparation of legal filings and documentation.
• Conduct risk assessments and provide mitigation strategies.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities on behalf of clients.
• Develop and implement corporate policies and procedures.
• Lead legal projects from inception to completion.
• Foster strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Requirements

Education

• LLB degree with distinction
• Postgraduate qualification in Corporate Law is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years in corporate law practice

Certifications

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Basic
