As a Membership Solicitor, you will be responsible for managing and representing the legal affairs of our members. This includes providing legal advice, managing disputes, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
Draft and review legal documents including contracts and policy documents.
Provide training to staff on legal matters impacting operations.
Develop recommendations for legal risk management.
Involve in the strategic planning process to ensure legal compliance.
Provide insights on new legislation affecting membership services.
Ensure communication of legal updates to members regularly.
Work with external legal counsel when necessary.
Advise on governance and compliance issues within the organization.
Manage member relations and address their legal queries.
Participate in advocacy efforts for member interests.
Requirements
Education
Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent
Advanced legal qualifications (LLM) are beneficial
Experience
5+ years experience in legal roles, particularly with membership organisations
