Job Description

We are seeking skilled Court Reporters and Simultaneous Captioners to join our dynamic team. The successful candidates will be responsible for transcribing legal proceedings using stenotype machines while ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Utilize stenotype machines for accurate transcription during legal proceedings.
• Work on editing transcripts to ensure they reflect true and complete records.
• Conduct research on relevant legal terminology as required.
• Perform routine maintenance on transcription equipment.
• Interact with clients and legal personnel to confirm transcript requirements.
• Safeguard sensitive information and uphold confidentiality protocols.
• Manage multiple transcripts under tight deadlines.
• Participate in ongoing education to enhance transcription skills.
• Assist in creating a database of standardized legal terminology.
• Provide timely feedback and updates to the transcription manager.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a stenotype training program or certification

Experience

• At least 2 years of experience as a stenotype operator or in legal transcription.

Certifications

• Certification by the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA)

Languages
