Job Description

We are seeking an Intellectual Property Coordinator to join our dynamic team in Johannesburg. This role involves managing intellectual property portfolios, conducting IP audits, and advising clients on IP strategies. The ideal candidate should be well-versed in intellectual property law and have a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IP management processes and strategies.
• Conduct audits and assessments of existing IP portfolios.
• Prepare comprehensive reports for clients detailing IP strategies.
• Investigate any potential IP infringement cases.
• Liaise with patent and trademark offices on various applications.
• Train and mentor junior staff on IP laws and best practices.
• Enhance client relationships through exceptional service and expertise.
• Monitor and conduct research on global IP trends.
• Participate in networking activities and industry events.
• Collaborate with marketing teams to promote client services related to IP.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Law or related field
• Master's degree in Intellectual Property or Business Law is a plus

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in a legal environment with a focus on IP

• Certified Intellectual Property Professional (CIPP)
